Snowbelly is a calorie tracker. We built it to keep as little about you as possible. There are no accounts and no sign-in, and we never sell your data.
If you are signed in to iCloud, your onboarding answers are backed up to your own iCloud account by Apple so a new phone can pick up where you left off. We cannot see your iCloud data.
Each one is optional. The app works without them; you'd just type your meals instead.
When you snap or type a meal, that photo or text is sent to Google's Gemini model through Google Firebase to estimate calories, protein and fiber. The same applies to messages you send the in-app coach and to recipe requests, which include your daily calorie and protein numbers. We do not store these photos or messages on our servers. Google processes them under its Firebase data processing terms.
If you choose to verify invites, the screenshots you pick are sent to the same Gemini model to check that an invite was sent, and the recipient name shown in the chat is kept on your iPhone only to count different friends. We do not store the screenshots.
To dress the mascot for the weather, the app looks up a rough location from your internet connection using ipwho.is, then fetches the current weather for that area from Open-Meteo. We never ask for or use your precise location, and we do not store it.
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how people move through the app (for example, which screens are reached and whether food gets logged). It collects usage events, device type, app version and an approximate region. Firebase App Check confirms requests come from the genuine app, using Apple's DeviceCheck. Neither is used for advertising.
The first time you open the app, it sends one anonymous message to our server with only your phone's region setting (for example "US"), so we can count new installs. Nothing else is sent and nothing identifies you.
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple tells the app only whether your subscription is active.
Reminders are optional and scheduled on your iPhone. You can turn them off in the app or in iOS Settings.
Snowbelly is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Deleting the app removes everything stored on your iPhone. To remove the iCloud backup, go to iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage. You can also email us and we'll help.
Snowbelly gives general nutrition estimates for everyday tracking. It is not medical advice. Talk to a qualified professional before making health or diet decisions.
